How to Join
Interested in becoming a part of the Ethernet Alliance? The Ethernet Alliance offers various membership opportunities which allow companies across multiple industries within the Ethernet standards space to play a vital role in advancing Ethernet technologies.

- Publicly display a legitimate business interest in the Ethernet standards
- Publicly support the Ethernet standards by shipping or developing products, Ethernet networks or enabling technologies employing the Ethernet standards, or by issuing press releases in support of the Ethernet standard products or networks
- Pay the annual dues in accordance with the set fees for the level of participation. Initial dues are payable upon membership acceptance.

Principal Membership ($17,500)
Principal members within the Ethernet Alliance have the unique ability and opportunity to truly help steer the direction of the organization. Companies at the Principal level are the only companies with the ability to vote at all meetings of the Alliance membership, as well as cast a vote in elections for Directors of the Board, Officers and Working Committee Chairs. The opportunity to help lead initiatives within the Ethernet Alliance is also exclusive to Principal membership. Principal members have the ability to run for a Director’s seat, serve as an Officer of the EA, or to Chair a Working Committee of the Alliance. Principal Members in good standing are entitled to the following benefits:
- The right to vote on all matters, as set forth in the Bylaws. In addition, Principal Members shall have all rights afforded voting members under the California Nonprofit Mutual Benefit Corporation Law.
- Attend and participate in all meetings of Members; will be eligible to attend and participate in any working committee that might be formed; will be eligible to participate in any show, activities, seminars and conferences sponsored by the Ethernet Alliance.
- One (1) vote at all membership meetings (annual, general and special), at all elections (Board of Directors, officers, working committee chair/vice-chair) and in all circumstances where a Principal Member may cast a ballot.
- The right to run for a Board of Directors’ seat and to serve as an Officer of the Ethernet Alliance and a working committee chair or vice-chair.
- Use the Ethernet Alliance’s Member logo and Member plaque, denoting involvement in the Ethernet Alliance in accordance with the Ethernet Alliance’s logo licensing policies.
- Access to all documentation and materials generated by or on behalf of the Ethernet Alliance, including: access to all Working Committee working documents, meeting minutes, and written contributions.
- No cost participation in up to three (3) plugfests ($2500 for each additional participation) OR participation in one (1) trade show interoperability demonstration ($5,000 for each additional).
- Propose new working committees to address specific issues.
- Receive priority over Participating Members to participate in marketing activities.
- Receive priority over Participating Members to participate in interoperability events hosted by the Ethernet Alliance.
- Submit written contributions.
- Subscribe to all general e-mail reflector lists maintained by the Ethernet Alliance.
- Receive priority over Participating Members for Member’s name posted on the Ethernet Alliance’s web site.
- Receive a Member spotlight on the Ethernet Alliance’s home page.
Participating Membership ($10,000)
Participating Members of the Ethernet Alliance help play a key role in expanding Ethernet technology and furthering the Ethernet Alliance itself. Companies at this level are able to serve as Chairs and Vice-Chairs of any Ethernet Alliance Working Committee and can also propose entirely new Working Committees to address specific issues within the Ethernet space. Participating members are also able to contribute proposals for whitepapers, webinars, and are eligible to participate in all Ethernet Alliance sponsored shows, activities, seminars, or conferences. Participating Members in good standing are entitled to the following benefits:

- Receive priority over Consulting Members for Member’s name posted on the Ethernet Alliance’s web site.
Consulting Membership
The Consulting level of membership within the Ethernet Alliance is specifically reserved for not-for-profit institutions that have been invited to join the Alliance by its Board of Directors. Consulting members have the ability to attend and participate in any of the Ethernet Alliance Working Committees and have access to all EA generated materials. Academic Membership
The Ethernet Alliance allows students and professors of universities and educational institutions to participate in the organization at a special Academic level of membership. Academic members are able to contribute to white papers, videos, and other Ethernet Alliance-created media.
