Ilya Lyubomirsky received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from MIT in 1999. Early in his career at Telcordia and ONI Systems Inc., he contributed to system modeling and design of high-speed packet and optical metro networks. Next, he developed ultra-dense WDM transmission systems at Ciena Corp., and researched PIC-based fiber-optic communications at Infinera Corp. From 2003-2010, Ilya was an electrical engineering faculty at UCR. Currently at Finisar Corp., Ilya is leading the research on advanced DSP-based data center optical modules for 400 Gb/s and beyond. Ilya has co-authored 45 peer reviewed journal and conference papers and 8 patents.
