10GBASE-T Achieves Standards Ratification
Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers Standards Association (IEEE-SA) approves three Ethernet-related projects
“The Ethernet Alliance recently formed a subcommittee to support the promotion of the 10GBASE-T standards development project,” said Brad Booth, Ethernet Alliance president and IEEE P802.an Task Force chair. “We are extremely pleased to see that the IEEE-SA review committee (RevCom) and standards board decided to approve the ratification of 10GBASE-T. The Ethernet Alliance is also pleased to see that the isolation requirements in IEEE Std. 802.3af were corrected and that the MAC-Sec draft standard was approved. With the growth in Ethernet-powered devices and the increased market demand for security protocols, the Ethernet Alliance plans to support these efforts.
