Ethernet Alliance Celebrates 35 Years of Ethernet at SC'08!
The Ethernet Alliance (booth #2514) is proud to announce its participation at SC08, November 15-21 in Austin, Texas where
we will mark the 35th anniversary of the invention of Ethernet.
Ethernet Alliance member companies Cisco, Extreme Networks, Force10 Networks, Fulcrum Microsystems, Ixia, Mellanox, Panduit, Solarflare, Teranetics, Tyco Electronics and QLogic will demonstrate an Internet Small Computer System Interface (iSCSI) server and Storage Area Network (SAN) connected to a Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) and Ethernet converged network. This unique exhibition will feature:
- Server virtualization technology
- iSCSI storage array streaming video over a converged network
- A low-latency, lossless Ethernet environment highlighting the throughput advantages of traffic forwarding with IEEE 802.1Qbb (priority-based flow control)
- Multiple 10GbE interfaces operating over optical and copper media including 10GBASE-T, 10GBASE-SR and 10GBASE-CX4

Additionally, the Ethernet Alliance University Program will host a networking mixer to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Ethernet on Tuesday, November 18 from 7:00pm - 10:00pm, at Scholz Garden, located in downtown Austin. Invitations will be available to the more than 40 SC08 participating universities. This networking event will be a unique opportunity to interact
